Al - Who?My intention, of course, was to fill this page with exciting points and witty anecdotes about my life. But, inevitably, it has just turned into a rather boring Q&A-style bio of my uninspiring life. Perhaps it will grow into something more exciting. But I doubt it. A Q&A style bio? That's hardly original. Give me a break. I've made my excuses. So go on then. Start with the basics. Who are you? I'm Al MacLeod (or Alasdair MacLeod.) I was born in Dumfries, in South West Scotland. Since then I've lived in Reading, Ipswich, the Lake District, Durham and now Warwick. I thought you were in Durham? Not any more. After (supposedly) studying for three years for a degree in computer science at Durham University, I worked at a software company there for two years. And now? I'm working at a place near Warwick University, doing more software engineering. So what else do you do? Ah, the obligitary hobbies question. I occasionally do - sailing, canoeing, hill-walking, bus-spotting and live-action role-playing. What, really? OK, I lied about the bus-spotting. So what's live-action role-playing then? It's sort of a cross between re-enactment, and free-form drama, usually set in a fantasy medeival world. There's more information on my larp page. | ||
